WANTED: GROWERS IN OK AND WESTERN AR
Grow high erucic acid rapeseed (HEAR) this fall and enjoy higher profits and wheat yields in 2009. HEAR is a high-demand crop grown exactly like canola. When rotated with wheat, HEAR improves wheat yields by 10% to 15% and diminishes rye. Because rye contamination is a serious threat to future wheat exports, growing HEAR now can actually help to protect wheat markets in the future. HEAR also consistently out-yields canola while earning a premium. By rotating to HEAR this fall, you could earn an estimated $250/acre more over wheat. And there’s no risk as HEAR is eligible for crop insurance. Call today. Grower meetings are being scheduled in your area.

Oklahoma & Arkansas Growers To Benefit From High Erucic Acid Rapeseed Offered By TCI
Oil from premium specialty crop used around the globe in manufacture of plastics and more

Stillwater, Okla., – Technology Crops International (TCI), a global leader in high-value specialty oilseed crops, announces fall contract availability to local growers for high erucic acid rapeseed (HEAR). Like canola, HEAR belongs to the plant genus Brassica napus, and is identical to canola in all respects except for the erucic acid content of the oilseed. While canola oil contains less than 2% erucic acid, the oil from HEAR contains more than 45% erucic acid. The premium crop offers the most economical source of this long-chain fatty acid, used extensively in the manufacture of plastics, and in personal care products, pharmaceuticals and foods. The announcement by TCI follows three years of highly-successful field trials conducted at multiple sites in Oklahoma in partnership with Oklahoma State University.

"We offer exceptional contracts to growers," says Andrew Hebard, president and chief executive officer of Technology Crops International.  "These HEAR contracts pay $9 per bushel, include freight incentives, Act of God coverage at no cost, and we even guarantee a buyer for your entire yield from all contracted acres," he emphasizes. "HEAR, which agronomically is nearly identical to canola, is planted in October and then harvested in June," he explains.

Meeting attendees will receive detailed packets of information on this exciting opportunity.  Interested growers should contact Jeremy Bittner, agronomist with TCI, at (877) 780-5882, or via email at jbittner@techcrops.com

New Crop Has Potential To Displace CastorOil Imports and More
Technology Crops International escorts Cinderella of new crops, lesquerella, to market

Phoenix , Ariz. ,
– It is planting time and excitement is high for a new specialty oilseed crop called lesquerella
(les-kuh-REL-uh), which--perhaps fortuitously--rhymes with Cinderella and has been dubbed the “princess of new crops.” A breakthrough, lesquerella has the potential to displace castor oil imports, thus benefiting multiple industries, reducing the U.S. trade deficit and offering a profitable alternative crop to American farmers. Further, with different functionality, lesquerella is a potential improvement over castor that brings with it new opportunities. Technology Crops International is leading the commercialization of the new crop, adding lesquerella to its portfolio of new crops on the heels of the successful commercialization of cuphea last year.
